Enviromental responsibility

Our products and services affect the lives of many people around us. This is why we give high priority to sustainable business practices at Mitnija.

Enviromental responsibility

Our environmental policy and culture ensure that our operations minimize environmental impact: selecting construction materials and methods, using energy efficiently, monitoring chemical substances, limiting atmospheric emissions from transportation and other sources, preventing soil pollution, and carefully managing the disposal of waste. We also make sure that we take the environment into account when working with our customers and business partners in the design and pre-construction stages. This may involve implementing new solutions for more efficient heating or cooling, taking full advantage of natural light sources or focusing on recycling.

As a contractor, we strive to work with partners (consultants, architects, suppliers and vendors) that share the same culture and values. We seek partners with environmental management systems integrated in their operations. This helps us take every opportunity to safeguard the environment when building residential communities or workplaces and encompasses everything from initial soil testing to methods for minimizing environmental impact, both during construction and during the entire service life of the properties.

Healthy indoor environments

We want to ensure that people enjoy their new homes and offices, and that they feel healthy while living and working there. That is why we are actively concerned with the indoor environment. This includes everything from climate control to using materials that do not cause allergies.

Homes and offices with low energy usage

Our goal is to build homes and offices that use as little energy as possible. By so doing, we not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also the expenses of homeowners as well as commercial property owners and their tenants. We see this as one of the biggest benefits of living in a newly built home or working in a newly built office. We do this, for example, by using improved insulation, being careful about our choice of windows and appliances as well as by selecting advanced technical and technological solutions and building materials.

Choice of construction materials and chemicals

Some materials and chemicals are less suitable for housing construction than others. They may have a negative impact on both the indoor and outdoor environment. At Mitnija, we believe that homes and offices should be free from materials that might endanger people’s health. So we take steps to ensure that certain chemical compounds are not used at our projects, even if they are allowed by authorities.

Good solutions in terms of environment, user-friendliness and indoor climate are important. We discuss environmental issues in our communications with customers, architects and other business partners.
