Social responsibility

Our products and services affect the lives of many people around us. This is why we give high priority to sustainable business practices at Mitnija.

Social responsibility

At Mitnija, we take social responsibility seriously. We are committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, as well as the employees of our subcontractors and suppliers. We also operate in accordance with the highest standards of labor practices, human rights, impacts on society and product responsibility.

Safe and healthy working environment

Everyone working on the construction of the projects we build is required to follow strict health and safety regulations. That is because we want our employees to go home safely at the end of the day. Another reason is that we want people to live in homes, work in offices, hospitals, educational centers or travel on railroads that were built with zero accidents and where builders experienced a healthy and safe working environment. We firmly believe that an emotionally and physically healthy and safe atmosphere at construction sites has a direct impact on the quality of the work – we want good, positive emotions in the walls of the buildings we construct.

In addition, since a lot of projects we build are located in central urban areas, we are always concerned about protecting passersby or visitors by using the most advanced health and safety techniques available.

Business ethics

Providing equal opportunities to all our employees is extremely important to us – as is doing business in an honest, straightforward way. At Mitnija, we serve our customers without resorting to corruption, under-age workforces, bribery or any other anti-competitive actions.

Ethics constitutes the foundation for the kind of people we are and the kind of organization we represent. Bribery and corruption are destructive to the business environment. These practices are not sustainable, distort markets and hamper economic, social and democratic development. It is in our interest that markets function competitively − stimulating innovative thinking, building trust and reflecting true costs and benefits. It is clearly our responsibility toward customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders to safeguard a healthy business environment.

Product responsibility

Mitnija builds homes for families and creates efficient, attractive working environments. Our reputation is one of our most important assets and we aim to safeguard it by delivering high quality products and services. The first step in doing this is to know exactly what customers and other stakeholders want. We must know their needs and expectations and be responsive, which requires close, regular contacts. The next step is to be responsible for quality by continually developing and improving management system. Clear reporting, accountability and management control support our quality assurance work.

Human resources

Mitnija’s success depends on our people. This is why we have to make sure we attract, develop and retain the best in the industry. Our human resources strategy focuses on creating sustainable jobs and ensuring professional development programs at all levels; sharing the company’s success with employees by constantly improving employee motivation and incentive programs; protecting each employee’s health and safety; fighting discrimination and promoting diversity.

Defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international legislation, fundamental human rights are vital to us all. These rights are universal and inalienable. A consistent relationship with all employees, built on mutual respect and dignity, is a cornerstone of Mitnija’s human resource work.
