Julius Gendvilis is ending his career as head of Mitnija transferring the CEO position to the company’s construction director Valentinas Cilcius effective on May 7, 2021.

“I took over the reins of the company eleven years ago, at a time when it was experiencing difficulties; therefore, in many respects we had to start from scratch – form a team, decide on our strategy and guide its implementation, and gain the trust of clients and other market players. I thank the entire team, our shareholders and clients with all my heart for their support, trust and this amazing professional journey – all of us together have made Mitnija one of the largest and most successful construction companies in Lithuania. I am especially proud of our completed projects that became city landmarks, successful expansion in the United Kingdom, and long-term relationship with customers – the biggest Lithuanian and international property development and investment companies,” says Julius Gendvilis.

“Julius has led Mitnija for eleven years but his career in our group started almost ten years before that. He started with us as a specialist and grew to the position of CEO of our beverage wholesaling subsidiary Mineraliniai Vandenys. Later his leadership qualities helped us build one of the strongest construction companies in Lithuania. I wish Julius the best of luck and thank him for professionalism and extraordinary achievements,” said Darius Mockus, President of MG Baltic, the owner of Mitnija.

The newly appointed CEO of Mitnija, Valentinas Cilcius, has managed the company’s construction operations for over ten years. Before that, he worked for nine years at the construction company Ranga IV. He says that Mitnija will continue to consistently implement its strategy, maintaining a leadership position in Lithuania and seeking to expand its footprint in the UK, Latvia and other stable European markets.

“I am sincerely grateful to Julius for his leadership and professional collaboration. All of us have created a professional company; therefore, my vision and responsibility is to continue this work and further strengthen the business. We will continue to invest in new technologies and modern business management systems, such as the LEAN, integrated 5D BIM construction process management platform. In addition, we will expand digitized management of quality, defects and occupational safety processes. We are fully aware that the construction business is no longer about production. We work in the service industry. Therefore, like other service companies, we must provide high-quality services, carry out work within schedule and within the agreed budget, serve our clients in a professional manner, and meet their expectations,” said Mr. Cilcius.

Mitnija is one of the largest construction companies in Lithuania. In 2020, the company generated sales of EUR 119 million, 9% higher than in 2019, when the company’s sales amounted to EUR 109 million. The company has more than 300 employees. Mitnija builds commercial, industrial, residential and infrastructural projects. Mitnija’s home market is Lithuania. In 2016, the company started to operate in the United Kingdom and Latvia; it plans to continue its expansion in stable European markets. Mitnija operates under the ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45000 occupational safety standards.
