Mitnija, one of the largest construction companies in Lithuania, has signed an agreement with real estate developer M.M.M. Projektai to construct the second stage of the latter company’s business center in Vilnius.
The new office building, which is being built on Saltoniškių street in the capital’s Žvėrynas neighborhood, will be located next to the first stage of the business center, which is also being built by Mitnija. The first stage will be home to Danske Bank’s Global Service Center.
The 6-story, 15,000 sq. m. office building will be constructed in a Scandinavian style, with clean forms and a focus on functionality, materials and technological quality. A 3-story 14,000 sq. m. underground car parking lot will also be constructed below the building.
The new building, which is being developed by M.M.M. Projektai, will meet A‑class energy efficiency standards; it has been designed to have the smallest possible impact on the environment. For example, this will be the first time in Lithuania that an office building’s sanitary facilities will use rainwater. A tenth of the building’s energy needs will be generated from the sun. The aim of the developers is to earn the BREEAM New Construction EXCELLENCE certificate for sustainable buildings.
The spaces inside the new building will be furnished according to the Activity Based Workplace concept. This means that tenants’ employees will be able to choose the best-suited work environment for different types of activities.
Mitnija will complete the construction of the new office building by the end of 2018; tenants will move in to the building in early 2019.
