Mitnija, along with the companies Darnu Group, Mediafon, Apranga Group and MV GROUP, have signed a contract on the purchase of mechanical breathing machines and their donation to Vilnius city municipality.
This is the companies’ response to the announcements that, as the number of COVID-19 cases in Lithuania increases, medical institutions may lack the necessary devices and equipment.
The companies purchased five Crossvent 3+ ventilators costing almost 50,000 euros, which Vilnius municipality will transfer to the medical institutions with the greatest need.
The CEOs of the MG Baltic-owned companies Darnu Group, Mitnija, Mediafon, Apranga Group and MV GROUP hope that the donated devices will contribute to the recovery of the sick and will be useful to hospitals in their everyday work. The CEOs also encourage everyone to contribute what they can: time, work or support.
Povilas Poderskis, Director of Administration at Vilnius City Municipality, says that given the scale of the pandemic, the acquisition of any health protection, care or treatment equipment is inherently complicated. In addition, according to the predictions of health specialists, it is not going to get any easier soon and leaves us no choice but to prepare for a situation where more people will be in critical condition and will require intensive care, especially ventilators. Therefore, any help we can provide to the city is important and valuable.
“Only together with the business community can we be strong. Thank you for everyone’s contribution and help in fighting these challenges,” says Mr. Poderskis.
