A recreation and training oasis for athletes in Druskininkai

In Druskininkai, one of Lithuania’s most picturesque resort towns, Mitnija has built an athlete training and recreation center of almost 17,000 sq. m. This is the largest of the recently built sports facilities in Lithuania.

Designed by the architect Gintaras Čaikauskas, the center will be used to train athletes in basketball, handball, volleyball, swimming, cycling, soccer, track and field events, combat sports and modern pentathlon.

The Druskininkai athletic training center comprises a multi-sports hall with 400 seats for spectators, locker rooms and hygiene facilities, and a cafeteria, as well as a 25 m swimming pool, a hotel, medical offices and a stadium.

During construction, a great deal of attention was devoted to the functionality of the facilities. For example, the main gym can be partitioned into three separate spaces by lowering dividers, allowing three teams to practice at the same time.

The Druskininkai athlete training center will become the main base for training the best athletes in our country.
