Our long-term relationship with Maxima

The partnership between Mitnija and Maxima, the largest retail chain in the Baltics, has been ongoing for more than ten years.

In 2003, we built a Hyper Maxima shopping center of more than 18,000 sq. m on Savanorių Ave. in Kaunas, along with a 630-car parking lot.

We have also built smaller Maxima shopping centers in the Šilainiai neighborhood of Kaunas, Telšiai, Mažeikiai, Kretinga, and the Viršuliškės neighborhood of Vilnius. With an area of 1,800 sq. m, the Vilnius shopping center is three times larger than the store previously operating on the same site.

Its basement floor houses a farmers’ market that has been a particular favorite of Viršuliškės residents for years, and the shopping center now includes both an underground and an expanded above-ground parking lot.

Another recent order from Maxima was for construction of a shopping center of almost 3,000 sq. m on Krėvės Ave. in Kaunas. Designed by the Kaunas architect Gediminas Jurevičius, it replaces a derelict Aguonos shopping center. Mitnija’s team built the new shopping center in six months, and it opened its doors before Christmas 2013.
